Overview

Homeo operates a client-worker marketplace for home services with secured platform payments, worker verification, booking management, reviews, and dispute support. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

Plain-language summary

We use personal data to run the marketplace, verify users, process payments, prevent fraud, support disputes, improve Homeo, and meet legal obligations.

Account and marketplace data

Information We Collect

  • Account details such as name, phone number, email address, role, city, profile information, login events, and communication preferences.
  • Client booking information including job descriptions, addresses, service categories, preferred time windows, budgets, attachments, ratings, and dispute notes.
  • Worker profile and verification information including skills, experience, service radius, portfolio images, KYC status, payout setup state, and marketplace performance metrics.
  • Payment records such as transaction references, escrow-style payment state, invoices, refunds, payout identifiers, fees, and reconciliation logs. Homeo does not store full card, UPI, or banking credentials when handled by payment partners.
  • Device, security, and usage data such as IP address, browser type, app events, approximate location, session diagnostics, and fraud-prevention signals.

Product, safety, and compliance

How We Use Information

  • Create and manage client and worker accounts.
  • Match clients with available workers and coordinate job workflows.
  • Secure client payments before work begins and support release, refund, payout, and dispute decisions.
  • Verify workers, assess eligibility, prevent abuse, and protect marketplace trust.
  • Send transactional notices, support messages, policy updates, and security alerts.
  • Analyze marketplace health, improve pricing, reduce failed bookings, and develop new features.
  • Comply with tax, payment, fraud-prevention, law-enforcement, and regulatory obligations.

Limited, purposeful sharing

When We Share Information

We share information only when needed to operate Homeo, complete a transaction, protect users, comply with law, or support a user-authorized workflow.

  • With clients and workers as required to quote, schedule, complete, rate, or resolve a job.
  • With payment, payout, identity-verification, cloud hosting, analytics, communication, and support providers under appropriate contractual safeguards.
  • With government, court, tax, law-enforcement, or regulatory bodies when legally required or necessary to protect rights, safety, or platform integrity.
  • With successors in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection of personal information.

Sensitive marketplace context

Location, Images, and Job Content

Home services often require location details, photographs, and descriptions of private spaces. We use this content to help workers understand the requested work, document completion, support safety, and resolve disputes.

Users should avoid uploading unnecessary personal documents, images of unrelated people, or sensitive household details that are not needed for the job.

Keeping data only as needed

Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide Homeo, maintain accurate transaction records, handle disputes, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our agreements. Some records may be retained after account closure where required for payments, tax, security, or legal reasons.

Controls and safeguards

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect data against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, and alteration. These safeguards include access controls, secure transport, logging, provider due diligence, and operational monitoring.

No system is perfect

Internet services cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use strong authentication practices and contact us quickly if you suspect unauthorized account activity.
